Protest rights

IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO ASSEMBLE OR PROTEST THIS WEEKEND – KNOW YOUR RIGHTS, KNOW THE RISKS AND KEEP EACH OTHER SAFE

Posted on 12 Oct 2023

We know lots of you are planning to assemble and protest this weekend, and we want to remind you that your rights have not changed.

This includes the Met’s confirmation that expressing support for Palestinian people broadly, including flying the Palestinian flag does not, alone, constitute a criminal offence.

As ever, we would advise you to save these legal bust cards, write phone numbers on your arm, find legal observers and “no comment” without a lawyer.

KNOW YOUR RIGHTS, KNOW THE RISKS AND KEEP EACH OTHER SAFE.

More information on your rights when participating in Palestine solidarity protests, and police powers to restrict them, is available here.
