Liberty responds to Court ruling confirming Palestine Action legal challenge will go ahead

Posted on 17 Oct 2025

Today, Friday 17 October 2025, the Home Office lost its appeal against a High Court decision to grant Palestine Action permission to challenge its proscription as a terrorist organisation.

Responding to today’s judgment, A Liberty spokesperson said:

“We welcome the fact a court will have the chance to scrutinise whether the Government acted lawfully when it proscribed Palestine Action as a terrorist group. Liberty and Amnesty UK will intervene in the case to assist the court in this decision, particularly in light of whether it was a proportionate use of the UK’s counter terror laws.”
