Liberty responds to police photo database revelations

Responding to news that police forces in England and Wales have uploaded up to 18 million photographs - including images of people never charged or others cleared of an offence - to a facial recognition database, Liberty's Director of Policy Isabella Sankey said:
"With scant regard for the law and no consultation, police have handed themselves an incredibly invasive tool capable of tracking millions of us irrespective of guilt or innocence.
"First DNA, then fingerprints, and now this – when will the police stop showing such contempt for our privacy?"
