Liberty and MPs David Davis and Tom Watson launch urgent response to Government’s “emergency” surveillance law

(LONDON – 22 July 2014) – Liberty, together with MPs David Davis and Tom Watson, will announce an urgent response to the Government’s new “emergency” surveillance law at a press conference on Tuesday. The new development comes just days after the Data Retention and Investigatory Powers Act 2014 – “DRIP” – was rushed through Parliament and onto the statute book inside just three days.
